I am using a explorer 8 on windows vista since last year.
Recently my explorer is not responding when I go to secured web pages.  Message pops up saying that JAVA (TM) not responding.
What can I do to resolve it pls.

Thank you for posting.  The first thing we need to do is try resetting IE’s settings back to defaults in case something strange has happened to them: 
1.     Open Internet Explorer
2.     Click on Tools
3.     Click Internet Options
4.     Click the Advanced tab
5.     Locate the Reset Internet Explorer Settings heading
6.     Click the Reset button
7.     Click Ok
8.     Restart Internet Explorer
Once this has been done I would like for you to open IE and try the page again. 
If it is still not working let’s try running IE in the No Add-ons Mode. 
Click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and click Internet Explorer no Add-ons. 
Again, try opening the page in question.  If it successfully loads you will know an add-on is to blame and we need to figure out which one it is.
Restart IE normally.  Click on Tools, Internet Options, and Manage Add-ons and disable all of the add-ons and toolbars. 
Next, re-enable your add-ons and toolbars 1 at a time until you locate the add-on/toolbar causing your problem. 
You may then simply leave the problem add-on/toolbar disabled.

To check for Windows updates

1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update.
2. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
3. If any updates are found, click Install updates. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
