2 systemic problems in Win 7
Two questions:
I have multiple installs of Win 7 on a variety of desktops and laptops and they all have 2 basic problems:
On every single one of them IE8 has identical instability problems.
Every single time I shut down IE8 it freezes and usually during a session using IE8 it will serve up the warning box that is has encountered a problem and has to close although the program
is actually working correctly.
This is when looking at sites like Yahoo and Google, not esoteric places.
For business reasons I have to use certain websites that are only compatible with IE so I cannot simply use another browser.
Why is IE8 utterly unstable
on Win 7? Do not reply if all you have to say is that IE8 works for you-I decided to post this via Firefox after IE8 froze while looking at Yahoo mail.
The other question has to do with Win 7 shutdown: I have yet to see a Win7 machine, laptop or desktop, whether upgraded to Win 7 or with Win7 factory installed, that does not periodically fail to complete the shutdown process.
Most often this is after the machine
emerges from any period of sleep but I have also seen it randomly when a machine is booted to perform a specific task and then hangs on shutdown.
These machines have MS security essentials, not a third party AV, and have garden variety productivity software
only installed on them.
They all have higher end hardware less than 18 months old.
Are the default settings for sleep in Win7 the cause of this?

· Does the Internet Explorer crash on all your computers?
· Do you have any Yahoo or Google toolbars installed on your computer?
You should try running your computer in No add on mode as some of the add-ons on the computer could be causing the Internet Explorer to crash:
If nothing helps, try to Run Internet Explorer in "No Add-Ons" mode
Internet Explorer add-ons, such as ActiveX controls and browser toolbars, are used by some Web sites to provide an enhanced browsing experience.
An error may occur if an add-on is damaged or if an add-on conflicts with Internet Explorer.
To determine whether
the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in "No Add-Ons" mode.
To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box.
Click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons).
Internet Explorer opens without add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
Test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly.
If no errors occur, the problem is caused by one of the add-ons that typically load together with Internet Explorer.
In this case, use one of the following options.
Option 1: Reset Internet Explorer
Reset Internet Explorer to its default configuration.
This step will also disable any add-ons, plug-ins, or toolbars that are installed.
Although this solution is quick, it also means that, if you want to use any of those add-ons in the future, they must be
reinstalled.
Option 2: Use the Manage Add-ons tool to determine which add-on is causing the issue
Use the Manage Add-ons tool in Internet Explorer to individually disable each add-on to determine which add-on is causing errors.
To do this, follow these steps:
Internet Explorer 8
Open Internet Explorer 8.
Click Tools, and then click Manage Add-ons.
On the Show drop-down menu, select All add-ons to display all add-ons that are installed on the computer.
For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click Disable in the Information window.
When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
Exit and then restart Internet Explorer.
If issues do not reoccur, repeat steps 1 through 3.
Click Enable for a single add-on.
Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors to occur.
After you have used this process to determine which add-on is causing errors, you can disable that add-on.
Or, you can uninstall the software that installs the add-on.
We also recommend that you contact the software vendor that provided the add-on for additional
troubleshooting and support.

Issue 2:
· Are all your computers are on the same network?
· How many computers do you have on the network?
Make sure that you have the drivers installed for all the devices on your computers, including your Video card.
It is always good to have updated drivers.
Go to the computer and the device manufacturers’ website and make sure that you have installed all the latest drivers.

Windows Restore - Totally Fix All Errors including 2 systemic problems in Win 7
- Click on the Start button on the Taskbar.
- Type "System Restore" (without quotes) in the Search box and hit Enter or,
- Click on System Restore (when you see System Restore pop up in the list of search results).
- Make sure the "Recommended restore" radio button is checked on the restore utility window.
- Click on Next and follow the instructions given.
Note: There is the option on the restore utility to select "Choose a different restore point". Unless you have a specific reason to select a different date and time than what Windows recommends, just select the recommended option stated in the steps above. If you choose to select another one, follow these steps:
Click on that desired date and time, and Windows 7 will perform a scan for any affected programs in that restore point.Once completed, click Next and follow the instructions given.
Once you have selected the restore point, your system will start the restoring process, after which you will have to restart the system.
