Activating/Inactivating a table - XML mapping

All-
I apologize as I am not sure if I am asking this question correctly.
I have a workbook that brings in data from a SQL database.
It brings all of this data (based off of load parameters) to a hidden worksheet, and then builds ranges based off of the column headers and maps them to ranges throughout the workbook, and fills
the data in.
I am noticing a big slow down when it is passing data to one particular sheet, and from some digging, it appears to be because there is a table set up on this sheet.  I have noticed the speed issue disappears when I remove the table (and convert to range)
- BUT the table is needed as it helps map elements to an XML file so that more data may be brought in later.
Is there anything that can be done?  I am assuming I need the table to properly hold the XML mappings - but why would it slow down a data paste from one sheet to another?  Is there a way to disable the table element to allow for faster data transfer? 
Hoping this makes sense - help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Machine Throttling

• Click the Start button.
• In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
• On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
• Reboot your computer.
