Troubleshooting:Automatic generate enrollment number in excel Error

Automatic generate enrollment number in excel

Respected solver,
I have an excel sheet on which I have three column as follows:-
    a                                           b                                         c                                  d
name                           date of admission                      branch                        enroll.
no
deepak anand                01-Jan-2011                          Kalka ji                   01/01/Jan/2011  (should be generated automatically)
Swati                                 01-Jan-2011                         Kalkaji                     01/02/Jan/2011 (should be generated automatically)
Karan                               30-Jan-2011                          Kalkaji                    01/03/Jan/2011 (should be generated automatically)
Abhimanyu                       31-Jan-2011                         G.Puri                     02/01/Jan/2011 (should be generated automatically)
Manish                             01-Feb-2011                          Kalkaji                    01/01/Feb/2011 (should be generated automatically)
Shubham                         19-Feb-2011                         G.Puri                     02/01/Feb/2011 (should be generated automatically)
and so on.
Enroll code = branch code/number of student of particular month/Month of admission/year of admission
01 is branch code, i.e.
kalkaji is first branch, and G.puri is 02nd branch
Now, what i want that enrollment no should generate automatically, is there any VBA code , function or formula?
pls help
regards.

Hi,
Your English is excellent, I can understand completely.
I produced this table

deepak anand
01-Jan-2011
Kalka
01/01/Jan2011

Swati
01-Jan-2011
Kalka
01/02/Jan2011

Karan
01-Jan-2011
Kalka

Abhimanyu

01-Feb-2011
Kalka
01/01/Feb2011

Shubham
19-Feb-2011
G.Puri

The formula which goes in the bold cell (D1) is

=VLOOKUP(C1,$Q$1:$R$10,2,FALSE)&"/"&TEXT(SUMPRODUCT((--(TEXT($B$1:B1,"mmyyyy")=TEXT(B1,"mmyyyy"))*($C$1:C1=C1))),"00")&"/"&TEXT(B1,"mmmyyyy")

Note the leading zero comes from the table in columns Q & R where column R is formatted as TEXT and a leading zero added.

Kalka

G.Puri
