We are generating an add up of data for a series of criteria for a number of products. We then rank order each item to seperate the data for plotting the data.
It would nice to automate this rank ordering process

You can use the RANK function.
Let's say your addup is in B2:B100.
In C2, enter the formula =RANK(B2,$B$2:$B$100)
Fill down from C2 to C100.
You can sort on column C if you wish.
