Avoiding Formatting Problems When Having to Upload/Copy & Paste a Resume Created in Word 2007 [Anwsered]

Avoiding Formatting Problems When Having to Upload/Copy & Paste a Resume Created in Word 2007

I sure hope this makes sense to someone out there.  When I copy/paste my resume into any space for a job it goes heywire due to the formatting that is within the resume.  There are titles that are underlined, in bold and italics.  There are employers listed
w/dates and cities worked underlined, in bold and italics and stuff like that.  I have alot of bulleted lists as well.  However, when I copy and paste this info into the space provided for a job, it just loses all formatting and I have to spend an hour fixing
the problems.  Does anyone know a way to get around this?  (and please don't tell me to "not" format my resume).  Most job sites want resumes to be created in Word doc.
or docx or something to that affect it says, could this have anything to do with it.  I
use Word 2007, so my documents should be in doc.
right ?  I don't know, if anyone can help, please advise, I sure will appreciate it very much.

Keys to the Problem Avoiding Formatting Problems When Having to Upload/Copy & Paste a Resume Created in Word 2007

Download Error Fixer for Free Now

Look for an option on the page to upload the Word document file
as a file, not by copy/paste into a text box.
The box on most web pages simply can't handle Word's formatting.

Before you upload, you'll have to save the document to your hard drive in whatever format the employer requests.
You can save the same document in both .doc and .docx formats to be ready.

Boot in Safe Mode:

  • Open Run command as previously described
  • Type MSConfig
  • Click on Boot tab
  • Tick Safe boot in Boot option
  • Select Network
  • Click Apply and OK
  • Reboot your system

Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
