Unable to upgrade Quicken 2009 to Quicken 2012 error: 1935
Original title: Microsoft Installer Issue
I'm trying to upgrade Quicken 2009 to Quicken 2012.
The install fails with a 1935 error.
I contacted Quicken support and they indicated the problem was the result of a Microsoft Installer issue.
The attached statement summarizes what the Quicken support person conveyed to me.
"
When installing Quicken, you may get a 1900-series error message, most commonly 1911 or 1935, where install will fail.
The error you received is caused by the
Windows Installer component being unable to install and/or register .DLL files properly.
The Windows Installer is a software component built into your Windows operating system that assists in installing applications on your computer." Needless to say
this is where the conversation ended."
Other Intuit products e.g.
Quicken 2009 and TuboTax 2011 install fine.
That said, I noticed Windows Update repeatedly installs KB2633171.
This has been occuring on a daily basis since 12/17/2011, the same time updates where applied to my Microsfot Office 2007 products.
I also experienced similar problems with Visual Studio
2008 Professional Edition.
I pasted excepts from the MSI Install and the CBS log for your informaton.
Any assistance on this matter woulbe be greatly appreciated.
