Hi Gret,

The issue you have posted is unclear; please clarify the issue by answering the following question:
Are you trying to apply logo on pinned App or pinned website?

I would like to inform you that you cannot apply logo to a pinned App as the logo of an App is default by design, it cannot be changed.
It is the way it is designed by the developers.
If you are trying to apply logo to a pinned website then I would like to inform that most of the websites that are pinned in start screen will show the site logo, but few of them may not show any logo.
This is not because
of internet explorer or Windows 8 but it’s because of the way these websites are designed.
Some websites are designed in such a way that Windows can locate and display their brand logo when you pin that site to the start screen.
On the other hand, some websites
don’t support this facility and hence Windows displays the default internet explorer icon.

  1. Access the files on your computer via MY COMPUTER
  2. Under the C: drive, access the WINDOWS folder
  3. Select the SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION folder, followed by the DOWNLOAD folder.
  4. Delete any files within this download folder.
  5. If you are unable to delete these files, open the command prompt (CMD) as the administrator, and type "net stop wuauserv" into the CMD prompt window. Press ENTER. This should allow you to delete the files from step 4.
  6. Once the files are deleted, open and run the CMD as the administrator and type "wuauclt.exe /updatenow". Press ENTER.

Troubleshooter of Error: all of windows 7 x64 programs not responding

all of windows 7 x64 programs not responding

I have windows 7 64 bit and have never had a problem before.
A few days ago my programs wouldnt respond all of a sudden, so i restarted my computer only to have the problem persist.
My programs will run for about a minuet, then all of them will crash
and i cannot start task manager, use the start menu, or anything else on the computer.
I cannot replicate the problem in safe mode.
I store all my files on a external hd, so there is no space issue on the computer and there are hardly any programs running
when they all stop responding.
i have absolutely no clue what is wrong with it.
 Please help!!

All my desktop icons have changed, unable to open files

Hi,
I recently downloaded a Zip file, and I don't know what happened but after trying to open it all my files/icons on my desktop have changed to UTorrent.

Consequently, when I click to open anything it only opens the UTorrent.

I would like to know the most simpliest way to resolve this problem and to restore everyting as it was.  I am unable to download any software to be able to help me restore any files.   The only way I am connecting to the internet is via the Expat Shield software
which I have installed, by clicking connect, it allows me to access the net.

I have backed up my files on an external portable hard drive.  Do you think that I would need to go back to factory settings and start all over again?

Your kind assistance will be much appreciated.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone.

Regards

Pierina
